The AN-22 was the largest heavy-lift aircraft ever built until it was surpassed by the C-5 Galaxy. It is still the undisputed record holder for any propeller driven heavy-lift aircraft. Of course, Antonov has reclaimed its record breaking status with its An-124 and An-225 jets and its unlikely to ever be seriously challenged again.
