On the weekend of Feb 23 & 24th I had the chance to go to Reno NV. to do a show as part of the theater company that I am with EDDY MAY MURDER Mystery Dinner Theater company which I do acting for. We arrived in Reno and were staying at the Silver Legacy Hotel and Casino. Good grief is that one large building. Anyway we didn't know where we were going to be that evening doing the show (ie venue, room, restaurant.) It snowed about a good 4 inches by the time evening was coming upon us. We were finally told that it was going to be at the Harrah's Automotive Museum http://www.automuseum.org/ As we were walking in immediately saw all these classic cars dating back to beginning of time. They were antique, shiny, and worth lots of money. It wasn't until we go back to what was know as Galley 4, when I saw the original Bat Mobile used in the 1960's TV series.
My jaw hit the ground. I suddenly had 4 hours of all access to hang out with the icon know as the Bat Mobile. I could believe it, I was able to get up close photos in the cab like no one else could. I also had full run of the museum looking at the other 100+ classic cars. A 1938 Phantom Corsair. This car is a one of kind, it is so black and sleek, and shiny. You have to see it in real 3-d just to get a belief of how incredible it is. A 1948 Tucker which they only made 51 of. This car was unique due to it 3 head lights in front, and the head lights would turn as the car would make corners. A 1961 Roth's Beatnick Bandit, this car was kind of futuristic bubble dome on it. A 1926 Ford Fire Truck. A 1929 Ford Mail Truck. A 1941 Chrysler. An incredible Cherry Red color. This Bat Mobile is 1 of 5 that George Barris made for the series. From a few other folks who have looked at it, this one has to be 1 of the 5 form what I am told. Any way below is the slide show video that I made to share with everyone.
