The Sukhoi Su-25 is a single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. It was designed to provide close air support for the Soviet Ground Forces. The first prototype made its maiden flight on 22 February 1975. After testing, the aircraft went into series production in 1978 at Tbilisi in the Soviet Republic of Georgia. NATO assigned the new aircraft the reporting name "Frogfoot". Russian pilots nicknamed it "Grach" ("Rook").

definitely not better than the A-10 in my opinion. Very sluggish handling with a very unsophisticated cockpit and weapon system. (It doesn't even have a proper HUD display!) The Su-25T however, might give the A-10 a run for it's money...
We will know which is better when the Russians Invade. :-)
The ooooooold A-1 probably could beat the A-10 afganistan wise.
The A-10 is good, but the Su-25 is simply Faster while doing everything the A-10 lacks. Minus the gun. And it can withstand fire just as good as the warthog.
Lol, think about it. It has the same payload, higher top speed, the same level of armor...
It just lacks a proper gun. it may not be 35mm, but 25mm is good enough :D
Hard to say...
Diesel!? Nice... thats special...
no CAS plane beats A-10. nonetheless, this is still very effective, at least was in afghanistan.
