O magnum mysterium et admirabile sacramentum, ut animalia viderent Dominum natum jacentem in praesepio.
O beata Virgo, cujus viscera meruerunt portare Dominum Jesum Christum. Alleluia!
O great mystery, and wonderful sacrament, that the animals should see the new-born Lord lying in a manger. Blessed is the Virgin whose womb was worthy to bear Christ the Lord. Alleluia
O Gran Misterio, y Maravilloso Sacramento,
Que los animales hayan visto Al Señor recién nacido yacer en un pesebre. Alabada seas, o Virgen, pues tu Vientre mereció llevar a Jesús Cristo, nuestro Señor, ¡Aleluya!

My band director just made an instrumental arrangement and it's done very, very, well. It was very emotional when we played it.
@ZcristalXD I am part of the music ministry at a Catholic Church in Glendale, AZ and the choir performed this on Christmas Eve. While they did not sound as good as this recording, it still gave me the goosebumps listening to it. Especially in the setting of Christmas and the celebration of his birth. Beautiful piece, and good luck performing it yourself! I hope you are able to post a copy of yours to share! :)
an excellent rendition of the work to say the least
the choir sounds very different to the version "best christmas carol ever" set to flowers, where the sound is not so sweeping but certainly as grand.
We're practicing this in our chorus, is a kind of difficult, BUT IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!
we sing this in my school chior beautiful song
Beautiful song.
Probably my favorite spot in this song. (Our madrigal choir sang this as one of our slow songs)
our choir is doing this song...it's so amazing.
El Siglo de Oro de la música española, con titanes como Guerrero, Morales o el propio Victoria. Donde se pongan estos que se quiten Falla o Turina.
Nice! Our choir did this too.
gave me chills...the good kind:)
this is the version i did.
oh my. i love it.
I study music and listened lots of wonderful things, but I dont know why; this touched my soul...
what a fun suspension at 1:46
ah thanks, didn't know that. i like it in this key. works very well. i've heard other versions in Ab minor and G minor, the soprano part sounds too low.
In renaissancepolyphony the artist is allowed (or more often supposed) to change some notes. usually to change a b-natural into a b-flat, an e-natural into an e-flat, or a f/g-natural into a f/g-sharp. its all about not leaving the right hexachord. this piece of music is (like 99 percent in this time) originally written in a key with maximum (!) of two generalaccidentials. this score is a transposed version of the piece.
Of all the versions you have posted, this one captures the emotion and message of the song. I love this version the best hands down.
its very well done...
@seaofwhoas
I have the same question. Listened to it a couple of times. Must be a slightly different version.
i wonder why the alto's on this recording are singing an A natural at "viderent" as opposed to the written Ab. always threw me off.
OMG thanks for posting i did Mangum but a different version but what the heck they are all beautiful. THANK YOU :D
