Description :
This is a selection of the scenes performed by Christopher Plummer in his first film, "Stage Struck" (U.S.A., 1958, directed by Sidney Lumet).
Based on the play "Morning Glory" by Zoë Akins, "Stage Struck" is the story of Vermont girl Eva Lovelace (Susan Strasberg), newly arrived in New York City and determined to become a great stage actress. In New York Eva meets producer Lewis Easton (Henry Fonda), actor Robert Harley Hedges (Herbert Marshall), and playwright Joe Sheridan (Christopher Plummer). Easton is producing Sheridan's new play, which stars famous and temperamental stage actress Rita Vernon (Joan Greenwood). When Rita Vernon walks out of the play, Eva is assigned to replace her.

John Waters certainly looks like Christopher in many ways, but yes, there is only one Christopher Plummer and he is irreplaceable. I don't think there has ever been such a diamond in the acting industry. When he's gone, it will be almost impossible to fill his shoes.
Australian actor John Waters looks a heck of a lot like Christopher, especially with those same bewitching eyes and smile. Amazingly, both men have played Captain Von Trapp - Christopher on screen and John in an Australian stage production of The Sound of Music.
Actually I think that much much much time must pass before mankind is blessed again with another Christopher Plummer... :)
