Well, to put all the comments to rest on this "two" cable. If you look at 1:05 you'll see that the cable in fact is not connected to the front of the car. It is connected to a braking mechanism on the bottom. At 1:05 you can see the cable coming out of the back of the car also. When the car arrives at its apex around 1:16 you can see the braking mechanism underneath. The breaks aren't going to stop a 3,000 pound car from rolling backwards down a 38 degree slope thats covered in ice and snow.

There is no tension in the cable. If you have common sense you'd know that means it it not helping the car go up the ramp. It is there so the car doesn't slide out of control when trying to go back down.
