Wonderful. Be nice to see some 20mm Hispanos in the nose, but hey - that's a detail. Breathtaking.

I am a SAAF old boy. Circa 1978 onwards. My current office is about 2km on the north side of Ysterplaat. The Schak always brings a tear to my eye when I see her coming into land. I have not seen her flying since the big air show two years ago.Keep up the good work.

Greetings, yes Shackleton 1722 is airworthy, and by all rights should be flying.Due to the fact that the crew are awaiting word from the Chief of the Air force as to their status because some are over 70 years of age. However we are doing a engine ground run on the 23rd of Feb to celebrate her 50th birthday.

This shack does still fly at the moment, (in South Africa )but is due to be grounded shortly due to a lack of qualified flight crew .
The shackleton at Pima is an AEW2 and made its last flight in december 2007, the one in the video is an MR3.
