hi my name is stuart and i would like to know if you have any high performance parts in that 289 and if so would you tell me where you orderd those parts. thank you
If you at every part of the studi you will
see they closly resemble the merlin engine
hence kinda sounds like one too
STUDEBAKER IS BACK!!! GOOGLE 'plunderhere" entr 'SUPERCAR"
they never left
289 is the biggest and most powerful of the Studebaker made powerplants, it is in a Studebaker frame, with a factory installed Dana 44 rear axle.
As for the Stock exhaust manifolds, not being able to tell the chassis year and with no pics of the body, the manifolds look nothing like the ones I have but then I haven't seen a Paxton powered Stude's exhaust manifolds.
Why use cast manifolds at all instead of headers? They cut noise and underhood heatdown considerably!
In the R3s and R4s Studebaker bored the engines out to 304.5.
As for HP.. the R5 engines (2 superchargers, fuel injection, dry sump oil system.. the works) made about 575 HP. I'd expect this makes more. Should hold together alot better too with the newer rods/pistons (studebaker rods were weak).
Thank you for the correction.
why a 289? and what's with the stock exhaust manifolds?
all motor means no turbos or superchargers or nos, and this has 2 superchargers.
yeah I know. I meant in the sence that he dosen't have a cab, bumbers, ext. it's just motor, wheels, and chasis. ya know ha ha.
