The small car Iacocca is talking about near the end of the commercial is the Dodge Shadow/Plymouth Sundance. It would end up getting pushed back to late 1986.

Great commercial, although nearly 25 years old it could easily be replayed again for each of the big 3. They all need Iacocca's to come back!

Oh yeah, everything he said in the very beginning of the commercial is exactly what The Big Three went through again recently and still...getting their asses handed to them by foreign competition because of lackluster design and low quality.

Excellent commercial and all his points were dead-on. What's that car he's talking about at the very end on the monitor, the Dodge Shadow? That was a good little car and in my opinion the best American economy car at the time.

Iacocca's K-cars (and derivatives) will go down as one of the greatest success stories in American automotive history.

That was the upcoming Sundance / Shadow series depicted on that monitor!
