she reminds me of myself and my mom only no drugs are involved except marijuana and me. the only movie that brings me to tears. when i'm in college and my sister is out of the house it'll probably be similar unfortunately.

She looks so good in this scene, she looked good before too, before the diet, but she looked so pathedic when she had to go throught with the ECT scene!!!

Ellen Burstyn is mutha fuckin BRILLIANT in this!

I cried at the end of the movie where Sara's friends visit her at the hospital...where they were weeping for her at the bus stop...oh gosh so sad. :(

What this scene articulates is what undoubtly millions of americans are going through...this movie shows how anybody can be a drug addict and the problems it causes. America is a place that endorses ambitions, and drugs are a catalyst of ambition, they cause people that can't get ahold of there goals a filler for that empty void, her real drug was TV.

america is a continent

You are exactly right! About all that you said!

and all she really wanted was to be on T.V.
really sad what her character goes through in this movie

this movie wouldn't be so powerful without her. she really makes the movie work and you feel so bad for her. I just wanna reach out and give her a hug. I think i cried, because of her specifically.
