Not really. In the movie, he was the one puppy that almost died at birth, after a while trying to get him back, he survived, and Roger and Anita decided to name him Lucky.

Lucky is names lucky because of his horsehoe markings, its Cadpig which was the stillborn that was revvived back to life, its also in the dvd extras

In the live action movie, it was Lucky who almost died, but I believe that was Cadpig in the animated version.
