Description :	I often hang out backstage at the killer whale pools at SeaWorld, in order to watch them interact with each other, and watch the games they play in their free time when the human trainers are off doing other things, so on this particular day, the killer whales decided they felt like body surfing onto the smooth surface at the back of the pool, so time after time they'd do this. It reminded me of watching skateboarders practicing their sport, as they hop their skateboards time and time again, up onto the edge of low walls and slide along. One summer night before the killer whale show, I was watching backstage, and one particular killer whale saw me and then he (she?) stopped swimming and rose up vertically so his eyes were out of the water, as the other whales kept swimming, and this one killer whale just stared back at me for the longest time. It was an amazing experience . . . particularly since nobody else was backstage at that time, so it was just the whale and me :) Anyway, the song for this video is "Surfin' Safari" by The Beach Boys.

do you work there? otherwise how do you get to hang backstage? just curious...

I always get an annual pass since I live so close, so I love to explore the lesser used walkways around the place, and any visitor can find the backstage pools and can then get to the seating area from there too, but most visitors just use the "main" entrance to the whale stadium, so never know about the secondary pathways.

That's a great video! I for sure don't agree with the negative comments :P To me it looks like the whales are having the best time! I was able to visit SeaWorld California four times last year, when I visited the area. Back home in Holland there are no parks with killer whales. So it's great to see videos from regulars such as yourself, with out of the ordinary stuff like this! Thanks for posting this! Please post more! ;-)

..maybe...but how would you liekd to be kept in the same lil swimming pool for 30 years..huh..they are just behaving the way they are trained to..im sure they would rather be swimming the great oceas.fucking other killer whales :P
