I still don't agree with this point you made... Dogs and cats aren't just pets in North America. They're pets to humans all over the world. (except for some parts of course, which is probably less than 10% of the world) Anyway, most people are more likely to be scare of snakes than dogs and cats...

i can think of numerous more news stories where like a dog or cat has killed a person or bitten someones ear off stuff like that as compared to a snake hurting or killing a person. and u say probably which means u don't know. if u want to prove a point then use fact.
I don't hate cats or dogs I just still don't see how they should be treated any differently from any other animal.

i agree, dogs and cats have been pets and man's bestfriends for thousands of years. eg. ancient egyption... but you don't really see snakes as pets...
But what do you know about the history of all other countries? Of course they wouldn't be pets in Egypt because as far as I know only poisonous ones live in the desert.
And so why would they want them if they're dangerous?
Dogs and cats have more intelligence than snakes, even a guinea pig does. They're man-friendly animals, they follows commands, and understand our reactions and language towards them. But snakes have almost no intelligence, probably none! They survive by their predatorious instinct and nature. So they're not a type of house pets. But some non-dangerous ones can be kept and looked after as house animals or something. But it's not like snakes have been pets for a long time. It's a fairly new thing.
actually they have about the same amount of intelligence as a guinea pig or fish, and birds (parrots not included). and since when do guinea pigs follow commands? where did u get your information that snakes probably have no intelligence? dogs survive by predatory instincts in the wild same with cats, some fish, and most birds. and as for what u said last they have been in some countries. and fish are fairly new pets too. same with rats. and mice.
