Hi there gypsumF
I am looking for a cheap macro lens for my Canon EOS 400D and have found EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM. I really like the close up images and want a good affordable result. What do you think about the lens?
Very nice commercial btw. Nice calming voice aswell.

Hello phenexus,
I haven't used the EF-S 60mm macro lens as it is not compatible with the cameras I have. I use the MP-E65 f/2.8 1-5 x Macro and the EF100mm F2.8 USM Macro. However, from what I have seen on the web, many people speak very highly of it, and at £350 it is reasonably priced. I will get the chance to test it out in June, so feel free to email me after the 10th of that month and I will be able to give you a better idea then.
My email is j AT mytinygarden DOT com

I have this 60mm lens. It's lovely. Try looking on ebay for a cheaper one, I got mine for about e250.

Hello axisrez,
Sorry that you can't understand the words - it must be my accent eh! I have written out the words, and will post them here in two parts (YouTube only allows 500 characters per post). The words in the advert are from an interview the agency did with me that they cut together to fit the ad.

"I spend a lot of time during the day in front of a computer screen, and to get out and look at something different, something living, breathing just a few steps outside my back door is a breath of fresh air.
Photographing insects - it's a fantastic source of entertainment for me. I like getting in close, and I like seeing details that you don't normally see with the naked eye...
|
"... I'm fascinated by the way insects are put together - they look organic and mechanical at the same time. I am gobsmacked by just how detailed these things are. Just like us humans, no two insects look exactly alike, and that fascinates me. So it's like people watching, but on a real small scale. And, the fact that it's all just in my back garden is an incredible bonus."

Nice advert. What's not to understand the man is speaking English

Well, I hope you get as much fun out of it as I do mine, motorqir! Greece should give you plenty of subjects to point your lens at. I have been there a couple of times, and from what I can recall it is a most photogenic country :)

Yes it should be fun this time around with a better camera.
