Clive Owen as Bond

I doubt anyone who comments here has ever read one of Fleming's books but if they had they would know the new Bond is far truer to original intention than the faux pas embarrassment of the Brosnan years. That said Bond should not turn into Bourne as the new installment seems so desperate to imitate.

i have alot of them. ive only read a few, but that still doenst change my view on Craig. when i watched all the movies i saw its not about how close bond is to the books, its how each actor portrays Bond, and still does the Bond stuff we all like. I love Connery's Bond. Craig is all the action and toughness that connery is, but without the stuff that makes him bond- hes too cold and careless. which is bond, but not really... if you know what i mean. along with other stuff ive already said.

I disagree it wasn't Craig's fault it was the writer's. He's clearly proven he can act flamobyent and tough in Casino royale but they just clearly used Craig as a sock puppet to promote their crap-film

I really wanted to like these past 2 movies, but i cant. i dont care whoever's fault it was. i didnt like casino, so i let it be a warm up and hopefully quantum could revive bond, but whatever they did wasnt bond to me.

agreeed that Quantum of Solace is a big let down (I didn't like it not even as an action movie: way over the top with the action and far too difficult to follow plot). but I wouldn't say it was Craig's fault. It was just a very bad script and characterisation. He's an actor, he does what and acts the way the director asks him to. I liked Casino Royale a lot. I found it refreshing. Anyhow, I think if a new Bond was to be picked, the choice should fall on Clive Owen. I believe he'd do great

This is a good video. TX for posting. I also hoped that when Pierce quit; the Bond franchise would pick my fave actor Clive. He's perfect, tall, chiseled look...Daniel who? He's like a Bond sidekick next to Clive. I always thought all Bond guys were Tall? What happened? Like Minni Mi became Bond. Ok Dan is a good actor but Clive Owen...is much better... That's all I want to say... At least i know, that u, me and a MILLION other people know Clive Owen is a better James Bond.

10. You know at the end of all the other Bond movies it says "Bond Will Be Back." well it feels like Bond is still gone and this is just a temporary fill in. Its one of the fill ins that half heartedly acts the part and doesnt care there is (or was) a true fanbase that he is letting down. there wasnt a part in the movie where i felt bond was back.

Sure he kills bad guys with 1 bullet and uses his surroundings to his advantage, but nothing that said "Im James Bond, and theres nothing you can do to stop me." I didnt bite my nails during the movie, i didnt get chills down my back from something that happened, and i didnt walk out wanting to hood jump my car and race down the streets like someone was out to get me. Casino Royale was the same way. It had no effect on me, so i waited to judge Craig as Bond until this movie.

And my opinion- He is not James Bond. James Bond is still away and it looks like hes gonna be gone for a while. I want to like Craig as Bond, but i cant. i gave him 2 chances to impress me and he failed. its not easy to imagine and like him as bond. it was not worth waiting the last half of the movie to go to the bathroom.

as an action movie, i give Quantum 8.5/10. as a Bond movie i give it 4/10. Bond has finally been killed, and Daniel Craig killed him... or maybe the writers and directors did... either way, this world is Bondless. There are still only 20 Bond movies and 5 Bonds to me, and 1 wannabe Bond with 2 movies.
