Chelsey's Story - T8 Spinal Cord Injury Brain Injury
Description :
Chelsey and Chelsey's mom, Bonnie, explain life with a brain injury and a T8 spinal cord injury. From going through rehab at Mayo to standing an hour a day at home! Even though Chelsey uses a wheelchair for mobility, she uses a stander for the physical and psychological benefits. Since her therapist wrote a detailed letter of medical necessity, Chelsey got the stander paid for through insurance. www.easystand.com
keep the faith, I hope you can possibly try water therapy, I also had brain trama, and broke back, l -1-2-3-4-5 with 5 fussions, thankfully was incomplete injury, I'm out of chair and get around with a walker, water therapy is Great......please try it if at all possible!!!
all i notice through this video is Chelsey trying to talk and her mother keeps telling her to wait. I'd like to hear from Chelsey after all it is her body that is in it!
It makes me happy, I wish someone would lift me up in the morning when I can not get up. God bless you.
I want to give Bonnie a big hug. This is a great story of love and inspiration. Keep working hard Chelsey!
I wish I could give Chelsey's mom a big hug. To think of what she's been through and still remain so strong. A great story of love and inspiration.
Keep up the great work, as I have said across youtube. It takes a lot of bravery to deal with cerebral palsy, suffering with CP my self I know hoe hard it is to deal with. I will incurridge any person with a disability to go out and do the best you can, you are the same as anyone else your an equal, the same as anyone else, don't let it get you down. Prove people wrong, put your mind to it you can do it!
Actually Chelsey does not have CP, she has a spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury from a snowmobile accident. Thanks for the great comment!
Does Medicare coverr it?
Medicare only covers standing devices by individual consideration...(appeal). Most private ( health insurance) and public (state medicaid) funding sources do cover standers, as long as the medical justification is complete and specific to the medical need of the individual, not a list of benefits that fit all user.
u should look into the fes bike too i have that and whoo its great
