in colder climates the lion would surpass the Siberian tigers weight in an instant. the European lion was MASSIVE but the romans drove them to extinction they were HUGE probably easily surpassing 1,000 pounds.

The largest lions were the American Lion, and it was slighty bigger than the Bengal Tiger. The Barbary Lion was the second largest lion, slightly smaller than a Bengal. The current African Lion is the 3rd largest of the Lion specie. But when it comes to extinct fields, such as the American Lion, Barbary Lion, or European Lions, their size and whatnot are all merely ESTIMATED. There is no facts when it comes to extinct fields. And nobody estimate the American to be bigger than the Siberian.

an lion can easily surpass an tiger in weight and length but since they don't live long in the wild due to continuous fighting you cant witness their true Goliath size, they rarely make it pass 8 years because they would be killed by another lion. but in captivity they look like monsters weighing over 600 pounds nearly 11 ft long there are just behemoths.

are you saying that after 8 years old a lion is still growing? A Siberian tiger is fully grown at age 6. And a 551lb lion is HUGE...for a lion that is. For a Bengal in some places in the forests of India, that's average. a siberian tiger averages under 600 in the wild. Largest tiger was 1025lbs, 941lbs, 800+, 700+. Currently, Randy Miller's tigers are 800+lbs. His lions are about 600lbs. So in captivity, a tiger out weigh a lion by 200+ lbs. In wild, about a 100-150lbs. tigers are far bigger!

My friend, i don't think you know the stats. Tigers are FAR bigger, stronger, AND FASTER. Even Dave Salmoni, who said a lion would win in a fight said that the tiger is on AVERAGE 100-150lbs heavier. Being so much heavier and having to run in tall snow and maneuvering in forests, the Siberian tiger still runs at 50mph. Lions max out at 35mph running on the plains.

a Siberian tiger yes but not an Bengal. an lion is naturally bigger than Bengals. the largest lion ever fond in the wild was 700 pounds, it probably was at least 9 years old.

My friend, the largest Bengal tiger was 902 lbs. Another was found to be 857 pounds and other 800+ pounders are recorded. In areas of India, some Indians claim that those Bengals are bigger than Siberians on average. Go to national geographic and see a comparison between a siberian, bengal, and african lion. It is accepted and common knowledge in the big cat studies that siberian and bengals are the largest cats in the world. lions fully grown long before age 8, so i dont see how that matters.
