Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister, and now Middle East peace envoy, is the consummate political communicator.
This video is a compilation of some of his words throughout his ten years as British Prime Minister (1997 - 2007).
Some background is included for those who do not know how great an impact he and his party made on their first election victory in 1997.
Also, a few snippets of policy. And, just to make a point, Blair did NOT decide to throw in the towel in June 2007. He could have been in place for another two or three years. The Labour party, in its wisdom, NOT the people, decided he had to go.
Is it "back to the future" for the Labour Party? Only time will tell.
Personally, I think they've made a HUGE mistake.
This is in two parts due to the length of some of the video clips. Both parts are of around 3-4 minutes.

I always liked Blair. I still think he's a liar, and ought to be ashamed for his involvement in Iraq. He always seems so sincere and genuine, even when he's lying through his teeth. Somehow it's just hard to hate the guy. Even when he was totally exaggerating the case for war, it still seemed like for whatever reason he actually did think it was the right thing to do. He's so likable and sophisticated that I have to consciously remind myself about all the death and misery that resulted.
Anteater, at least you think he's likeable. That's a start!
Now think about - I mean REALLY think. WHY do you think he's a liar? It can only be because the press told you so. None of us sat in on the discussions pre-Iraq, so we only hear what the papers write from those with an axe to grind. Others who say that he did NOT lie are usually disregarded by the press. And there are plenty of them. WHY? Because the press has its own agenda - anti-war/Blair/Labour. But Iraq is turning around ... cont.

And now that things are working out SO much better in Iraq and its people are thanking us, do we hear that from our press!? NO! Read Michael Yon on Iraq.
The death & misery that resulted, were caused by the insurgents who killed THEIR OWN. You need to understand that the people voted for their own government given the chance by Britain, the USA & allies. That government is now working & we have an ally in the Middle East.We surely need one given the madmen out there!
Well, all I can say is that I try to get my news from multiple sources, many of whom I don't necessarily agree with. I've read a lot of the more gung-ho stuff about the war, but the idea that Iraq posed a genuine threat just never seemed plausible. I don't claim to know the true reasons for the war, but I believe a false pretext was presented. I realise much of the current death toll probably comes from insurgent attacks, but that doesn't excuse the deaths caused by the coalition forces.
Tony Blair made me fell proud to be british! He is a great great man!
And me, rachelharris82. How we miss him now.
God bless Tony Blair.
Absolutely, highdesvet, and protect him from the world's maniacs.
Well put, scoutingcanb4girls!
And he's still doing his best for this country and the world. It must have been a lonely job at times with Brown next door plotting the coup.
I also think the treatment of Blair tells you a lot about the pathetic character of the British press and the cynical intelligentsia. I DO blame the liberal press for their misinformation on him.
Brown is now getting his just desserts, imho.
We get the same thing over here with Bush. God Bless Blair
