Good thing we never nuked anyone after the Japanese - nukes are not something you just toss around but rather have them to create a threat that hopefully prevents others from using theirs on us. I worked nuke air launched missiles in the AF and even taught them at Chanute but we never wanted them launched with live warheads. Luckily things cooled down and are somewhat quiet between the countries that have nukes.

Interesting you say that, because that was Curtis LeMay's intention. He loaded 1,000 B-47's with H bombs, then gave Eisenhower a call requesting permission to wipe Russia off the map. Russia's still there so you know what Ike's answer was.
