Similar to a scene from 'Life of Brian'.

Thanks very much for the video. Nice to "meet" you, as it were.
I enjoyed my holiday too, apart from the bit where I got lost in the kazbar, and the bit where the sea smashed me against some broken seashells and almost had my left nipple off (I had to hold it in place for an hour to make it "stick"). :)

'Nice to "meet" you, as it were'
Indeed. I had this video planned for some time, had no good 'lead-in' to make it. Thanks.
'almost had my left nipple off (I had to hold it in place for an hour to make it "stick")'
Stay tuned for a few videos I might make about Nippon:-)

Also, I doubt that the lies from the beggars could really be classed as al-taqqiya (it was clumsy lead-in on my part). But it WAS indicative of the extent to which they would turn any denial into a personal insult. Would I swear on my children if I was not telling the truth? How can you insult me this way?" I was young but I had never met liars in Europe who adopted this tactic. Al-taqqiya is a SHIA practice. Read up on it.

'turn any denial into a personal insult'
Pretty much the same thing, I found. Its silly because you have to assume a stranger is lying if they appear to be lying...
'Al-taqqiya is a SHIA practice. Read up on it.'
Doing. Currently reading up on the divisions of the world under Islam. Fascinating and a bit scary. Dar-al-harb, anyone?

I went under the half and he pretended to get offended. Seriously, it was just like the bartering scene from The Life of Brian:D

I had the same lesson about bartering. We were told to go to half the original price, which leads me to believe a quarter was still a reasonable profit (and I don't blame them at all). I hung around on the beach too. All nightlife was at the hotel.
