As a former Dart crew chief, I would like to see more 106 videos. Any ideas where? I crewed F-106B 58-0900 and F-106A 57-0795 at Tyndall AFB in late 70's.

that B-58 is too much .. i cant get enough... that is a cool shot of 102's in woodland camo vietnam era... did either the dagger or the dart go to nam ??? seems i remember hearing something about a short stint over there...

That's correct, 1z1q, they were stationed at Udorn, and Don Muang in Thailand, and at one ore two bases in Vietnam. There role was on a ground alert status where they would always be ready at the drop of a hat to intercept possible enemy planes from the North. The big advantage they had over the F-4, was they could get airborne much quicker.

THANKYOU BROTHER THUD!!! as always sharp and intelligent responses... i love hearing about history from the man himself...did the deltas ever mix it up with a mig????
|
From Korat, we heard storys where the 102's would "scramble", meaning that enemy MiG's were on a direction over Laos towards bases at Udorn, and possibly NKP (Nakhon Phanom) in the northern borders of Thailand which is well within their range. Never heard of any dogfight though. If anybody here has any knowledge of it, that would be nice to post here.
