god i love the episode where barneys stuck on the subway

It kind of sucks finding out it's not being filmed in front of a studio audience.

They do so many cuts and flash backs it would hardly be possible to film it fluidly in front of a live audience. They film it and then screen it for an audience (that frequently consists of friends and family, according to the DVD commentaries) and record the audience's reaction.

Well, at least it's not canned.
