1971 Plymouth Duster commercial

Would love to see the '72 Plymouth Gold Duster ad again, I remember it from when I was a kid: "It's got a vinyl top that's right in style, looks like it came off a gold rep-tile, you can have all this and lots more too when you buy Plymouth GOLD Duster, '72."

Anybody remember Mean Mary Jean? Would love to see her again in commercials.

How are you gonna take a car for a test drive through a cornfield? And how is a hot chick gonna have the name Ethel?

1) Well, a lot of dealerships are "out in the middle of nowhere," and some are even next to cornfields. I've seen several around my neck of the woods, and thought that aspect of the commercial was (more or less, lol) realistic. 2) It was a popular baby name at the time, perhaps? How could her mother have known she'd grow up to be a "hot chick"?

OK, but even after that, what salesman is gonna allow someone to bang their car around during a test drive without grabbing the keys the minute there's trouble? Unless he thought he was gonna get some nookie out of the deal when Mama hit the bricks.

Who knows? Apparently consumers can get away with a *lot* more on a test drive in a commercial than they could on a *real* test drive. Remember the pickup commercial (Ford?) several years ago with the wife who totally mucks up the pickup with mud on the test drive and decides to buy the nice clean pickup? I don't even think the salesman was present during the drive for some unexplained reason!

I need to find her on Wikipedia. What's her full name? And what's Mr. Titchener's first name?

Sorry mate. I just used this video to show someone in the UK what a Plymouth Duster looks like. I know nothing about the actors in the commercial. ;)
