Jim Rome on Softball Guy

Jim, this is awesome! I play hardball at 44 years old and it's a joke to see guys playing sloooo-pitch softball. They don't play a real sport. Even when I went to the Dominican Republic and played real ball with locals, they laughed at the fact that grown men in the U.S. play "slow pitch"! This is awesome. I agree that slow pitch is a social low-key activity and the guys who brag about batting .650 aka "softball guy". Great job on this---awesome!

I play hardball still after many years away from the minors. We have some guys that swear they are being scouted. Its pretty funny to me since Im 34 and had a scout hit me up a week ago about playing in an independent league until he found out my age. I tried softball once: That shit was slow. It was coed and the girls were mashing and I sucked lol I was cool with that since they cant hit a 95 mph fastball and I can. Not to mention, CoEd softball is just to look at chicks cute asses.

I think a guy who has built up 220 affiliates in two countries in the last 15 years, and has had devoted fans - like myself - for that entire time deserves a lot more respect than the comment you just gave him. Romey tells it like it is. If you think he's a tool then why are you here?
