I prefer the 1951 allister Simm version but I do admit that this is my next favorite because it is so much fun :)

yeah, this is supposed to be light hearted musical of the original it fails in it's emotional intensity

I disagree. There's still emotional intensity where it really matters. Such as when Cratchit visits Tim's grave or when Scrooge is redeemed. The break-up is quite good as well.

Great comment, me too -- it's because they don't drop everything and sing at bizarre, inappropriate moments. I mean, this is the most coreographed scene of all, the music just flows and is part of the film, and the film is fantastic.

I just got this movie is one of the best Christmas carols ever Merry Christmas to all and happy tidings.
