Book, WE WERE SOLDIERS ONCE...AND YOUNG by Lt.Gen H.Moore & J.Galloway,also the movie starring Mel Gibson.Bruce Crandall was played by actor Greg Kinnear.He was the commander of Alpha Company of the 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion that flew in Moore's 1st battalion,7th cavalry to LZ X-ray in the Ia Drang Valley of Sth Vietnam on Nov 1965. If it wasn't for Crandall flying out the wounded & flying in ammo/water, the Americans would have been slaughtered

i think it is sad, as a soldier, that a draft dodger put that medal around his neck. this man, along with all the others that participated in the battle of ia drang from the 1/7th Cavalry, are heroes. he deserved better than to recieve his medal from w.

Though you may dislike the president, he did not "dodge the draft". You cannot dodge the draft by joining the reserves. Bill Clinton, on the other hand....
