Its good to see how many Shotokan practicers are. my style is Shotokan-ryu Kase-Ha, the style "created" by Sensei Taiji Kase. Stop saying this like "shotokan sucks, kyokushin sucks". its not about this style is better or worse, its about "im a better or worse budoka". if u r good in ur style, u r good. theres no perfect style or better style, we are who r good or bad fighters, no matter the fighting style

i like karate and respect all forms, but i do not agree with the tactics of shotokan. maybe it is the tournements, there stances and defense looks faulty to me. just my opinion, i would love to spar with a shotokan fighter so they can prove me wrond. my eye just may not being the true skill of shotokan.

Stances and defence looks faulty? Check out Lyoto Machida (13-0-0). He uses typical Shotokan low stances, point-sparring defensive movement and effective counter punching.

Don't be fooled by the way the stances look, they are very nimble on their feet. One black belt I faught pounced forward so fast I barely had time to react. And you're right, you probably won't notice the intricacy of their techniques if you haven't studied Shotokan yourself.

i've been looking at some wado-ryu practioners and i like, there stances is similar to shotokan. i would like to try it and see if like, and by reading the discription of wado-ryu it was made infusing shotokan, goju-ryu, and jujistu.
