Drum Inlet is actually 3 different inlets now after Hurricane Ophelia opened a new inlet just South of the other two. They are located in the middle of Core Banks on the southern OuterBanks of North Carolina. Ocracoke inlet is on the North end of Core Banks and Cape Lookout is on the South end. Core Banks is part of the Cape Lookout National Seashore and the island almost comepletely undeveloped!
