Actually they can and many do own their own homes. Plus you have to consider most cubans pay no rent, health services are free, and they get food at subsized prices, and free education. But wages need to increase, and the convertable peso shoudl be the new currency pegged to the Euro. Most Cubans consider the alternative--Miami Spanish Cubans--a bunch of wackos in thier own way, so they are patient.

You need to learn more about Cuba. Cubans do pay rent, there is no access to real heath care, education serves no useful purpose. Wages is your only knowledge. And you must be a Cuban to understand the reality of Cuba. So keep your stupid ass off this subject.

Inkan1969: I don't. The US is backward in many ways because it is irrationally hostile to the best parts of socialism. Every other developed country has socialised medicine (universal health care). No one can cancel your "insurance" because you don't need any and no one can refuse you care. Tertiary education is subsidized to a greater degree in most developed countries and fees are much lower than in the US. A couple of examples of how "socialist" values have improved on basic capitalism.
