The Sea King came in too low and caught a wheel in the safety rigging that surrounds the flightdeck. It is mounted there to keep sailors from falling into the sea if they go over the side. It was an unfortunate accident. I was on an aircraft carrier for three years and there was always flightdeck accidents, although not usually of this degree.

Merci for the info. God bless the souls of the men who lost their live in this unfortunate accident.
I would most worry about their families they left behind, their wives and kids. May they R.I.P.

he came in too fast, its rly sad to see stuff like this happen and have people call them idiots.

how the hell did the helicopter manage to randomly flip over? it looks fake :S
|
how the fuck can death be fake????
|
Ships dont stay level in the ocean, they're constantly pitching and rolling with the waves, also if you look at the video you can see that part of the helo was hanging off the deck on landing.
|
It isn't fake, if you look at where it's pivoting, you'll see that one of it's rear wheels is caught on a railing.

Thanks, Legionare12001. That was really wierd, I was like WTF and OMG! 'Tis a shame.

Ya I know it really sucks. I mean if you die in combat thats one thing, but when you die during a training mission thats something completely different. God be with those guys.
