Messes up? The DMC-12 (or DeLorean, as you call it), originally HAD a rotary engine but they scrapped it because of fuel economy. Engineer Colin Chapman, founder and owner of Lotus is the man who designed the chassis of the production DMC-12. It's very similar to the Lotus Esprit. So, if you think adding a Porsche transmission and adding similar, newer parts is 'ruining' a 'DeLorean,' perhaps you should have YOUR head examined.

I'm sorry I ment the outside of the car. I love the engine and tranny combination. They painted the stainless steel though and that's horrible! I saw a Delorean at a car show with a twin turbo with 215 hp. It had John Delorean's autograph on the dash. These cars are so nice and have soo much pontential. Just a few updates and should have a cool ride. But please don't mess with the stainless steel!
