Renault and Jeep car commercials (Mid 80s)

Renault spent so much money trying to save AMC which they owend before Chrysler bought it out, that they didn't have any money left to continue with their own brand in North America. I don't know anyone here who used to own one that has anything bad to say about them.

How come they're not importing Renault to North America anymore?

You can get puegeot's if you go to mexico. The stopped importing these cars such as renault, peugeot, alfa romeo cause they either didn't sell to well and they had reliabilty problems. If you bought a yugo they might be built better but the reliabilty wouldn't be too much different.

Not really, they stopped importing because Chrysler bought them out and shut them down.

Renault, Peugeot, Alfa Romeo and Rover/Sterling were forced to close their American subsidiaries and run away from here because their cars just weren't good enough to fight Japanese, German, or even American competition.

That sounds like Orson Welles. It's not Orson Welles, is it?
