will some1 pls help me? i just got the game, and if im using auto lock or manual, my torpedoes just whont fire. i've followed every step in this manual to the letter and when i hit the fire button nothing happens at all, i've also tried opening the tubes first and they either dont open, or the torps dont fire anyway. i dunno what to do, pls help, thanks

I haven't played IV yet but I gotta say Silent Hunter III had a much better looking interface.

Get the new SH4 addon UBOAT MISSIONS. it features allt he old material but better graphics.

Determining speed by "guessing" isn't really a good system. If you take a range reading, wait a minte and take another one (sending both to TDC) you can use those readings to have the system calculate the speed by pressing the little button with the watch in it. The reading also gives you the course, which you can use to calculate the AOB more precisely.

My method has not failed yet.... Unless the ship changes course.

However i encourage everyone use's the techniques thats works best for them... I personaly dont have any need to use the crosshairs or speed button to measure speed... i can do it all by eye.

Even pros will miss now and then... the boats can sometime move unexpectadly. However if all else fails... you can turn on auto aim... which makes things a bit easier.
