i still can't belive she didn't won..... she was unbelivable.... just like she was in the aviator... she's one of the greatest actresses EVER... and i think it's a big scandal she didn't won... i was so sure... but i still hope that one day the people will realise that she is the greatest... and tilda swinton.. the movie was great but i wouldn't even have nominated her

let's pt it this way: the academy award judges who actually vote got it totally WRONG!!!! If you ask me, I thought Tilda Swinton deserved NOTHING!! she wasn't even that great in Clayton. Cate is one of those actors who simply is a chameleon. and the academy(judging how Jack Nicholson was robbed for outstanding performances such as in The departed and Five Easy Pieces) doesn't like that, very rarely do they. In other words, the try to make it tough, and go for certain things....

Don't get me wrong, I think Tilda is a fine actress but Cate was robbed. I think it's pretty obvious which performance was more indellible. Oh well. Cate's performance is legendary and will be remembered, Tilda's will be forgotten. Cate lost out to Gwyneth in '99 but which performance is still being discussed to this day? Oscars are political, time will reveal the true winner.
