so a flat 12 has nothing to with a flat six?
"boxer" means horizintally opposed, ie a "flat" mtr...

A beautiful car! It's design (1969) is timeless. Even their salesposter design was like from 200X.

I LOVE the sound of that engine when it revs and shifts. Not even the lovliest burble from a modern F1 car can top that.

whats the top speed on this.
|
240 mph plus

carguy12345678910, he tells you in the video that it did 246 mph at lemans. The haundieres straight was pretty much a top speed indicator for any car of the era.

You don't know anything... the 917 engine has nothing to do with the 911 engine - 911 is a boxer, while the 917 is a flat 12-cylinder with a V12 crankshaft.

I heard in a TV documentary that the first versions of this car lacked proper aerodinamic drag, so the pilots weren't exactly enjoying the ride when going through turns. Running away when asked to drive the car LOL
The CAN-AM versions absolutely owned. Nothing would stand against this beast by far.
Unladen 845 Kg and 1100 BHP, 400 liter fuel tank, insane.
Perfect for taking mothers-in-law to the hipermarket :)

Flat 12 needs to make a comeback in some street cars today.
