This is a short video showing the beggining and end of the last boss battle in Arx Fatalis. Before continuing, let me just say that Arx is one of my all-time favorite games, and I defended this game, and its honor, on several very negative message boards when it came out. For a game made with nothing more then the MS-supplied Direct X7 toolset and programmed by a half-dozen fanatical (and extremely gifted) frenchmen, Arx did what *no other* RPG had done since Ultima Underworld 2. It made dungeon romps fun again.
Ok, my character here is a min/max'ed character that is pretty cheesy, I'll admit. I only increased two skills the entire game: Object Knowledge and Casting. I increased both to 60 and divided the rest inbetween defense and offense.
His core stats are 14/11/11/13
(Though his equipment increases his 14 strength to 19)
Notice how many heal potions I have!

Just finished Arx, or as far as I could get anyway. My save corrupted pre-ylside-stronghold and only one of the three possible akbaa stones spawned (Iserbius' chest) :(. Had to come here to watch the ending since it'd been so long since I last completed the game! One of my favorites; always wished there would be some type of continuation.
it is.. you just need to make a 2handed meteorite sword.. smelt metoerite dusts + 2 mithril ores to get a meteori bar with that u can make a 2h sword. if yuo already have smelt the mithril to a bar u can use the dust on the bar so u got the same effect and can create a meteorite 1h or 2h
Wow, and here back in the old days of the jowood arx boards, this was unknown. everyone made 1-handers. None of Ladyhawk's end characters used 2-handers. I assumed it was not possible.
Looks like I found a new reason to go through it. I haven't gone back to those boards since 2003, so take that into account.
wouldnt using a 2hand sword be a bit more smart since iserbius/akbaa only uses magicial attacks
Sure, if there was a 2-hander stronger then this sword.
the meteorite sword is made especially to defeat Akbaa.

Awesome. I really loved this game. And you can see its influences in Arcane's more recent game "Dark Messiah" (also a favourite).
This is far better on PC than XBox.

Anyway: Nice video, makes me want to go fire up this great game one more time. Too bad Arkane seems to have lost the motivation to make a sequel.
