Wow, that was my first car. I bought one that was the same year model as the ones in the commercial. It was a good new car for a high school kid in 1988.

To think, the 1st generation J car was designed in the 1970s as a replacement for Monza.By the mid 80s the car was almost 10 years old already. When the 2nd generation died in 1994,the car was basically near 20 years old.

It wasn't Yuppies who bought them. It was a car that was (and still is) aimed at the first time car buyer, a demographic that generally includes college kids. It was also marketed toward people who couldn't afford a bigger car such as a Caprice.
It was a good car for what it was. There are still quite a few of them on the road out here in Arizona, so they couldn't have been that bad. They're 20-something years old!

Not very civic, are you?
You can have my sister! LOL!

It looked like a Cavalier with a Cadillac grille. Unreal.
|
I'd hate to see what my 1988 Caprice 9C1 would do to your poor little Civic!
It's already dispatched one Honda to that riced out race track in the sky!
