These aren't usually the sort of videos I do - but i felt like I had to speak about this subject. And don't worry - this isn't one of those trick videos where the screen goes black half way through ;) Anyway, enjoy guys - and comment :)

Damn man, I'm convinced. I never watched it when it was on TV, but I bought the full box sets after seeing series 1 2 on BT Vision and just finished watching them last night. I was sure they were just a typical American family (except he's a Gangster) out for a meal but that the threat was always hanging over them. Now however, I think you're right unfortunately.
WEEEAAAAAK!
Lol this was the spoof of everybody hates chris lol i saw on wikipedia lol search on youtube everybody hates chris last episode put to the dn there in the diner singing
its sapost to be wat ever u wont it to be like why make it end that wat thay all say but i think david chase nos wat he relly wonted 4 it any ways n its not like hey its just a tv show like a herd on a preveis comment cuz if it was 10 yires of big fans 4 nothing thay ware upsat
I like the whole "we see the show through Tony's eyes" thing and I'm sure that's what they had in mind for a justification of this ending. There's one problem though... we don't see the show through Tony's eyes. We see it through everyone's eyes. The audience is an omniscient observer, otherwise Tony would know things like who's a rat as soon as the audience finds out. Sorry, this ending is a bit of a cop out.
"Its like going to Black". DEATH. EXISTENTIALISM. There is no "point".. The theme of the show is best expressed by the early storyline where Tony's mother and son actually have a discussion about existentialism on her deathbed.
ah, NONE of you get it. The show was an EXISTENTIAL EXERCISE- Tony never learned anything from therapy, he never really pays for being a scumbag, etc., none of the characters change or gain any insight any more than the characters in Scooby Doo. David Chase is basically telling you- "relax, it was only a silly tv show, we had fun" The point was simply to WATCH THESE PEOPLE, not reach any "BIG POINT", that's what the ending was saying.
I like it. Luck was a prevalent theme in Sopranos. Tony is up, Tony is down, and in the end his luck runs out when Dr. Melfi gives him the boot, Bobby gets killed, Sil gets shot, etc.
Sorry about the typos/grammar mistakes, lol.
...even during the precious moments that he has with his family. But that's just what I think. In think David Chase is a genius. The Sopranos is truly the best show ever made.
... but it wasn't. It was over. So who the hell would have a hit on Tony? The entire last scene just screams with "hidden" messages. I have never seen a scene in any form of visual media that has said such in so little time. It basically sums up Tony's life during and after the series is over. He is just a regular guy making a living and providing for his family. The difference between him and Joe Schmo is that he's in the Mafia and that means he will ALWAYS be looking over his shoulder...
...Tony's fate is the one that's really left open for interpretation. He either looses his Rico trial and goes away for a long time, or ends up like his uncle Junior, starring outside a window sill talking to the birds. And yes, there is a possibility that he could of gotten shot at the end. A lot of people seem to believe this because of Bobby Bacalieri's comment about when your getting whacked "you never see it coming", that might of been true if the war between NY and NJ was still going...
...system is based on race. Carmela will continue to turn a blind eye to Tony's infidelity and his work just as long as he continues to fund her housing projects. Eventually their relationship will deteriorate to the point that it will basically be just for show. Tony's sister Janice will probably end up like her mother Livia. Her daughter Domenica will probably grow up like Janice and rebel against her because of Janice's strictness...
In my opinion, the last episode was a for shadowing of what eventually would having to the main characters. AJ's character would eventually end up in Adriana's situation because once he gets the experience, Tony will fund his night club and that will just be another front for Tony's illegal activities. Meadow, believes that the FBI mistreated her father when they arrested him not because he's a crook but because he was Italian and will find out the hard way that not everything in the legal...
Italians don't f**k around when it comes to daughters. Even NY knew that. So you'd best believe that what Tony did to Coco would scare even the HARDEST gangster. Butch was visibily scared of Tony, despite how hard-core he acted when Tony visited Phil in the hospital. "You should have called first" Don't let the eye fool ya, Tony's assault on Coco was well thought out. He probobly consulted with Sil that it WAS the right move to get NY scared to follow through on War plans.
The concept of the entire series was to dulge into a glorified sociopaths life and point out all his unseen flaws. As Melfi broke it off with him, it is a symbol that there is nothing left to learn from such a scumbag. (In the last scene, he actually tries to pull out his piece during a family dinner just in case someone were to assassinate him despite the War being over. This was the show's final attempt at writing about how f**ked up this guy is inside.)
NJ was a "glorified" crew. Tony played his cards brilliantly in that he gave Phil many chances to set that 25% figure right. And to make NY a little afraid of starting war with Tony, the golden opportunity arrived. You may notice that in every season, Tony's life constantly comes into question. This is almost always followed by a supernatural event that saves Tony's ass. It's basically the theme of the show. Tony's a bad guy, but things always seem to churn his way.
Everyone in both families knew that the provacation of this War was with Phil's inability to drop his asking price for the Asbestos compensation due to the Billy Leotardo factor. Tony had done business with Johnny Sack for years, making made men in both families happy. Phil's asking for 25% of the asbestos compensation was a SYMBOL that Phil was clinging to a past beef with Tony. Phil was merely blind to the fact that he can't make a legitimate beef with Tony via business reasons.
As things winded down, it seemed like Tony was in complete loss of control over his work, legal, and family life. Phil was trying to start a war with Tony's family-which to it's vague assertion- is much smaller than any of NY's 5 families. A "pygmie" is what Phil said it was. Tony's brutal assault on Coco was'nt nearly as overreactive as Tony made it out to be. Tony knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Coco touching Meadow was EXACTLY what Tony needed to get the NY family to back off of him.
This theory on how Tony S dies is very legitimate. Great observation by ministryofmoutz. However the dominating concept of the last scene is AMBIGUITY. It is meant to me interpretable both ways. There is alot of evidence that Tony does get shot. However there is equal if not more evidence that he survives the Phil ordeal Let me explain...
I do however agree that Medows three strikes parking has does not bode well for tony. However, never underestimate David Chases willingness to fuck with the audience. Nothing in the show is an accident, but I think the elements are there just to fuck with us
I agree with Jimmycrak221. Those are not the same black guys. I thought they both died. Plus, they arent even being clever and jsut putting the same actors there as a clue. They are different actors
Well you are right, and your wrong. The black guys that enter are not the same guys who tried to kill tony. If you can remember one of them was actually shot and killed.
Entertaining video Moutz ... I hope you are wrong though. I am waiting for season 7 ... I hear it on the grapevine that Paulie leaves the family, and becomes the US President :)
