Lee and Miles were totally different players. I love them both. Being a trumpet player I have to admit it's a lot harder playing Lee's stuff though. But I equally enjoy playing both of their styles. Although one of my favorite things Lee did was the half played note. Really effective if you can nail it. I do it in memory of Lee.

if you check out miles' older stuff there are some lines just a scary as lee's.

Man, he looks like he's blowing with all his might! To the point it looks dangerous. He's jammin' though!

this just makes me laugh in spite of the fact you obviously do not understand anything about jazz, music, or let alone trumpet. Keep studying... please

Davis was great because of how he could kill you with 3 notes over 4 bars. Lee is great for his speed, soul, and wit.
Retrorex and hirmente are idiots for not knowing what the hell they are talking about.

Saw Art Blakey here twice in Montreal at DouDou Boicel's Rising Sun club. He was sitting next to me at the nest table with the entourage and friends. I couldn't look at him. I was a young drummer. I couldnt ask him for his autograph. I finger tapped at the table to what was playing at the time hoping to impress him. What a fool I was...
