im a boeing fan but i dont hate on the airbus fans, i just book a flight without airbuses, simple as that, hate boeings? then go on a flight without them... its as easy as that! DONT HATE

I can't speak for Airbus but i'm pretty sure they do highly respect Boeing as a formidable competitor and excellent plane manufacturer. Even Mr. Gallois did congratulate Boeing for the 787.

China agree to share Metal's market with Airbus. That should benefit them.

the 787 is a much older plane already...the technological advances in the a350 are years ahead of the 787...a350 simply has less orders because it was only confirmed late last year, but is getting orders all the time from all over the world.

The A350 is ahead of the B787 how? Airbus is still catching up I think.

Not really as andinho08 pointed the A350XWB was launched a year ago while the 787 since 2003 if i recall correctly. The A350 has already won about 400 orders/comittments which speaks volumes.

read again and maybe you'll understand.

Hi andinho08, isn't Boeings Fuselage Barrels CFRP construction method more advanced then Airbus CFRP Shell construction, don't you think? The advantage of shells are you don't need as big autoclaves as for Barrels, but Barrels need probably less maintenance because it needs less joints. I know the A350XWB will get a variable Wing chamber technology and a better wing but will this be enough to make it more efficient? Anyway i'm really curious what other technology's Airbus will implement.

IMHO, all new planes should have missile counter measures; why must a plane go down first?! The Airbus wing is to be ALL CFRP which is worrisome. An all CFRP wing may structurally make more sense but might make fuel more vulnerable to lightning. Boeings solution, I think, is to have aluminum ribs and stringers to divert strikes.

Agree but remeber the DHL A300 which were hit by a stinger in Iraq and could land. The 787 does have only small number of AL ribs and stringers, mostly CFRP. To avoid lightning there are thin mashes of copper embedded into the CFRP skin. Airbus will do similar on the A350XWB. Btw the 787 wing is also ALL CFRP. And the fueltanks on both planes will have inerting gas.
