YES! It will punch paper and milk jugs well at 1000. Lots of variables, Including human error. Good reading material on preparation available, lots of powder to burn. Good luck.

taught myself 1000 yard shooting, firing at clay pigeons with sako 75 in 308 with a nightforce scope and sloped rail..just applied intelligence and some good handloads and a true appreciation of wind.....

Folks, everyone likes to think that they're elite and can hit targets at long ranges. Nothing replaces experience in this matter. You have to know what you're doing, and combine that with what you're feeling... some people have better intuition than others. Take a golf ball and hit it at 200 yards. This is the accuracy of hitting an animal at 1000 due to the increasing uncertainties at that distance. REAL practice, knowledge, and skill is required.

None of those shoots were made without the use of a shooting rest or shooting vice. I would like to see that done offhand, then maybe I'd be impressed. However, shots like that should be saved for range target practice, not hunting live game.

dont forget if you are shooting game at 500m onwards make sure your round has the foot pounds of energy to down the game ,and kill it fast an then go for it if you have happy hunting
