the thing is that unlike other countries, the government doesnt buy the rifle from companies witht he lowest bid, the government owns the company so the rifle can be made to whatever standard they see fit. and there's no such thing as "copyright" in china so they would use technology from other guns. the qbz was made by incorporating the best features from other assult rifles like the m16, famas, fnc and a couple more.

I don't think it was from m16... otherwise its junkend for 21century. As for Copyright stuff, yea this is also why many company hate China and why EU has a high tariff from china's export.
