The united states of north America were attacked by a terrorist group supported by the Afghanistan government at that time known as the Taliban. The USA's retaliation WAS justified and I support the decision. Northernfog69 is correct in his/her assessment though, Iraq was a mistake. The difference is such a mistake in the late 40's and 50's sent politicians and military persons to a war crimes tribunal and the UK is as much to blame in our support of the action against Iraq.

Believe me I'm an American and I don't accept what's going on with the war but I constantly remind myself that innocent civilians; men, women and children alike were killed in the 9/11 attacks, what would you have done if your country faced a similar attack, would you have sat and done nothing or would you have done something against the enemy. As the Amish believe, despise the sin, not the sinner and it is up to us to take action or wait for another attack. Pray that the right decision is made.

No, I agree, the US were attacked and I was totally behind them to go after their enemies, it was totally legit. But the Iraq invasion was a terrible mistake, there was no reasons for it, Saddam was not behind the attacks, the vast majorities of the terrorists were Saoudis, financed with Iranian funds and trained in Afghanistan and Pakistan !! - Yet, the US are best friends with those countries, go figure...

Better to have friends than enemies. With the Iraq invasion I don't know, there were ups an downs to it. You saw on the video clip of how happy they are that Saddam was thrown out and how when he was executed, they were living under a Hitler regime in a way. Believe me I don't like this way anymore than you do and I constantly pray that someday it will be over and the Iraqi's can be free and our soldiers can come home.

Well, at least go after the ones who actually attacked and not some country who didn't. Bush was and is after the oil in Iraq.
