There was runaway hyperinflation, high unemployment, and tyrannical governments. Economists the like of Friedman had been able to turn around the governments of Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, and Mexico to a freer more democratic society.

Chicago Boys have failed in Chile and then Pinochet used Keynes theories to help the bad economy they had after the experiment of infamous Chicago Boys, and further Presidents after Pinochet have never used Friedman for anything, so what do I have to learn from you?
