More than 10 years ago, Lexus invited Manuel Barrueco to play "Asturias" on the classical guitar in its TV commercial. The car was traveling on a winding mountainous road. Lexus was trying to demonstrate to the audience that the engine was so quiet that one could do music recording in the Lexus car, just like a studio. Does anyone know where I could find that clip? I prefer that version of "Asturias". That was a classic!

I was just lookin for this too, as I recognised it from a classical guitar book I have,named only as 'Spanish Study' taken from Albeniz. It was always my fave bit in the book! Now I may have some street cred with the kids!

I never knew there was a piano version of Asturias. (I only know the guitar version) Was it done specifically for the ad?

The piano version is the original version. It was transcribed for guitar later.

It's originally composed on the piano and then transcribed for guitar some time later.

It's Brian Cox and he did indeed play William Stryker in X men. He does alot of voice overs too. Nice money if you can get it. 8^)
