You must admit this was the best looking and most advanced cars sold in the 80's. Too bad Chrysler didn't demand quality and marketing.

Not certain why you say there was a quality issue with the Eagle? Mine is still running strong and has been trouble free for close to 20 years. Even my paint job is still original. The interior has held up well for 150 thousand miles. They had a target when designed of being equal to an Infinity in quality.

Wow this brings me back, I was 17 and asked my parents to buy me this car. I got a Isuzu Impulse instead, too bad both beautiful cars were such POS.

In 1990, My Dad bought a New Dodge Omni. I was furious. I insisted that he go to the Eagle Dealer with me. We found a 1 yo Premier with a sticker of 25 k for 10 grand. It had 12 K miles. I still have this car today! :O) I still love it.

your dad bought you a New Dodge Omni, I understand why you were furious, it's a punishment to own one of those!!!
|
Hey I watch it buster the Plymouth horizon/Dodge omni were great little reliable cars with the 2.2 in them.
|
not unless you had the omni glhs turbo!! then you wouldnt be so furious
|
Nope, it never wore the Renault Name on it. The Alliance, Encore and Medallion all had the Renault badge and name. When Chrysler bought AMC, The Premier handn't been launched yet so the protypes and first early cars did have the Renault Diamond but they were all replaced before any were sold. The Medallion did also get an Eagle badge and emblem and was relaunched

Didn't the Eagle Premier early in mid 1987 appear in the US as the Renault Premier? I think that this was one of the last cars in the US to have a Renault badge before Chrysler killed them off.
