what i'd really like to see is a game world and characters that didnt so much look real as behave real. recent ones like gothic and elder scrolls have good graphics and AI, but otherwise the characters dont seem purposeful, all dialogue is scripted, and the world is static and many objects are useless. i'd rather it looked like UW and UW2, but had purposeful, lifelike characters and environment.

just goes to show, a game doesnt have to be huge to be fun. the underworlds were plenty big, and for their size offered much more fun that titles in the same genre today
