@ColdWarWarriors The Russian Air Force definitely still uses the Soviet Roundel on it's aircraft, I'm sure of that. I've seen russian military planes on several occasions.

The crash site does not look right, fresh leaves still covering the ground, no burnt out trees vegetation. Don't think the Russian airforce are still using red stars as insignia on their aircraft. Most likely a fake.
