Hey, I've always wanted a Carpet Python, I've had Rat Snakes/Corn Snakes to Ball pythons and Columbian red tail boas. I was wondering what the going price for a carpet python is?
Otherwise beautiful snake. Carpet Pythons are the more beautiful of the python species IMO.
Well a hatchling will cost you around £100. Give or take a few quid for the colouration and that. I got mine for £70, as he's got a little scar on his neck. It's no problem thoguh and it's slowley going. =)
hey wats up. those carpet python are tame when they are younger but prepare for when they are older. when they are adults they bite. and they get really aggresive. im sure you know this already though lol.
You've got no idea. It's almst the exact opposite. My hatchies try and tear my face off, but the adults will spend all day around my neck no worries.
yep ur very right ther mate, iv just got a juvanile coastal carpet python myself, £80, still very small at the mo, and she is a right little nipper, quite nervous i feel, and she is very protective of her enviroment, she will soon settle down tho as she matures, and gets used to my sent etc. god knows what PrehistoricPets is on about!!, he aint got a clue lmao!!...i used to keep burmese, also BP, i like carpets as they are very aborial tree dwelers, unlike most other pythons/boas
Actually its quite the opposite, being in Australia, and talking to alot of people who own various carpets, coastals, bredlis, jungles, murrays etc (and I have a coastal hatchie of my own) as they get older, theyre less likely to be snappy. (Assuming theyve been raised carefully and with respect, and handled frequently). So by what your saying, if the carpets you are talking about are very aggresive, they obviously have had alot of trauma with the owner, or just plain havent been handled.
NerdHunter, sorry I didnt see your post, very true :) Mine was in reply to PrehistoricPets. My hatchie is 6 months old now however, he's snappy while in his cage, but once out he's a little darling, doesnt strike or anything. Ive only had him for 3/4 weeks now, and I trust him enough already to let him reach out to my face and have a look around :) Id let him crawl over my hair/neck, but I dont want him getting tangled or falling off xD When he gets bigger ill let him :)
Beautiful snake, my next choice when acquiring another snake for sure... I have been looking into it for quite a while already.
thinkin of gettin 1 of these..theyre well nice!! not as nice as my royal tho hehe jokin..nice carpet mate :D
