pwede din kaya nameng sundin ung nasa video mo total sabi mo di din naman nagagawa ng 100% sa mga hospital eh ganun ba?D kaya magalit mga clininical instructor?

Wala akong authority to tell you what to do about these procedures, however I can advise that although you cannot totally apply 100% the IDEAL procedures given similar set ups such as this public hospital's facility, try to stick to what your CI has insturcted you to do para di magalit. Iba kasi diskarte ng bawat CI sa bawat set up e. :-)

yes, i agree. procedures wasnt ideal enough! like the procedure of bathing, be careful not to moist the cord, bka matagalan pa mag dry ung nacut n cord... infant are also risk in bleeding and infection... dapat careful tayo. pero gya ng sabi nyo, may kanya kanya tyong diskarte mga nurses and mga future nurses!!!

iba talaga sa theoretical kesa sa actual hahahha

Some obervations in this videos:
1. The crib was not covered with sterile drape or linen.
2. The Healthworker was wearing a ring, which is not proper.
3. Gloves were not used during the new born care.
4. Wiping/Drying of the baby should be done from head to toe.

oo nga po weh.. pero pag kmi katulad naming estudyante at nagppractice palng.. lagi nlang nireremind samin na no jewerlies. execept for wrist watch. grabe tlga. d tlga nasusunod ung cnsbi nlang sterile technique.

I guess so many hospitals and clinics in the Philippines are closing because of lack of health workers. Maybe it will help if this training is given to barefoot community members so that even if the technology is not perfect, at least the poor who cannot afford institutional care can have some marginal knowledge of childbirth management.

hmmm....im not contented for wat i saw in the cord care but it was helpful sa mga basic steps for those who realy wat to learn for advance....here in our province KALINGA...St.Tonis first college for nursing...hopefully first batch can make it for the board exam for this coming year for the benefit of the nxt batch who want to study rather than going to the city....

So am I. But this is what I saw. Even in the other poor hospital I went to, the procedure wasn't ideal either. The thing here is that, like in Basic Life Support training, they teach you stuffs with complete materials, however you can't apply them 100% in an actual scenario.

I guess in this hospital with poor facilities, they are still trying to stick by the book despite the lack of resources. This will definitely not work for big hospitals. Specially for the meticulous. But here's a glimpse of how they do it in povert places like this. :-)
